“Las Ganas de Superar”: New Spanish-Language Ads Highlight Gov. Hobbs’ Record of Cutting Costs for Arizona’s Working Families

PHOENIX –  Today, Gov. Katie Hobbs’ campaign and the Navajo County Democratic Committee released a new Spanish-language ad, “Las Ganas de Superar,” on television and radio, highlighting her record of delivering for Arizona’s working families so they can get ahead.

The ad celebrates the work ethic and determination of Arizona working families, and why Gov. Hobbs has made it her mission to support those who drive Arizona’s economy. Hobbs’ efforts add up to real savings, helping families stretch their budgets: working across the aisle to cut taxes for small businesses; eliminating taxes on tips, overtime, and rent; funding school lunches so no child goes hungry; and canceling $1 billion in medical debt for nearly 700,000 Arizonans.

“Katie Hobbs understands that every dollar counts for Arizona families, and she’s worked across the aisle to help them keep more of their hard-earned money,” said Michael Beyer, Communications Director for the Hobbs campaign. “From cutting taxes and lowering healthcare costs to funding school lunches so no child goes hungry, Katie Hobbs knows how to fight for working families, making sure they aren’t just getting by, but have the freedom to build the future they want for themselves and their children.”

The Hobbs campaign has prioritized early, robust communication to the Latino community in its paid media program. These new ads build on a previously announced multi-million-dollar Spanish buy highlighting how Hobbs’ working-class background — from driving for Uber to support her family to helping domestic violence survivors rebuild their lives through social work — motivates her as governor to fight to lower costs, erase medical debt, reduce prescription drug prices, and create good-paying jobs across Arizona. She also launched Familias Primero, a coalition of Latino leaders, community members, and local elected officials working to re-elect her.
