“Linked”: New Ad Connects Andy Biggs to Notorious Child Predators Warren Jeffs and Jeffrey Epstein

Ad details Andy Biggs’ disturbing pattern of using his power to protect abusers

 

PHOENIX – Today, the Katie Hobbs campaign, in conjunction with the Navajo County Democratic Committee, released a new ad, “Linked,” laying out Andy Biggs’ decades-long record of protecting pedophiles, including Warren Jeffs and Jeffrey Epstein, instead of children. Arizonans have learned about the crimes committed under Warren Jeffs in Colorado City, Arizona and Biggs’ decision to protect the people enabling the abuse instead of the women and children who needed protection. Now Arizonans will see that Biggs has a disturbing pattern of using his power to protect predators – most recently by voting against releasing the Epstein Files.

The latest ad recalls the crimes committed under Warren Jeffs’ corrupt pedophile cult, noting that even some of Biggs’ own Republican colleagues have said he “had a chance to stop the abuse of children” but “did nothing.” That failure traces back to Biggs’ time as Arizona Senate President, when he singlehandedly blocked bipartisan reforms that would have protected women and children from the corrupt system enabling abuse in Colorado City, allowing the pedophile cult to continue trafficking and abusing children for years. Asked just weeks ago whether he knew what was happening in Colorado City at the time, Biggs admitted, “I was the Senate President. I knew what was going on.”

Disturbingly, killing the Colorado City legislation wasn’t the only time Biggs used his power to protect abusers. The ad highlights Biggs’ vote against a bipartisan effort to release the Epstein Files last year. Serving on the congressional committee tasked with the decision, Biggs was one of only two members to vote against their release, later dismissing the backlash as a “gotcha game” and a “PR stunt.”

“Warren Jeffs, a pedophile cult leader, and Jeffrey Epstein, a billionaire child rapist, are two of the most notorious predators in America, and they’re linked by one politician: Andy Biggs,” said Michael Beyer, Communications Director for the Katie Hobbs campaign. “When Biggs has the chance to protect children, he continually does the bidding of predators instead. Arizonans deserve answers about why Andy Biggs keeps putting predators ahead of protecting children.”
