PHOENIX – Today, Gov. Katie Hobbs launched Arizona Over Party, a coalition of former and current Republican and Independent leaders, community members, and business leaders supporting her re-election because she has consistently put Arizona first and politics last. Arizona Over Party is among the earliest coalitions the Hobbs campaign has launched, underscoring her commitment to earning the support of every Arizonan, regardless of political party.
“My focus has always been on delivering results for Arizona families, which is why I have worked with leaders from both parties to cut taxes, lower costs, expand access to healthcare, and make housing more affordable,” said Katie Hobbs. “That’s what Arizona Over Party is all about: putting the people of Arizona ahead of partisan politics. It’s what brings us together, and it’s how we keep moving our state forward.”
The launch comes as a growing number of Republican leaders and business leaders rally behind Gov. Hobbs’ bipartisan, results-driven leadership. In recent weeks, former Republican Mesa Mayor John Giles and Republican business leaders John Graham and Sharon Harper have endorsed her reelection campaign, citing her willingness to work across the aisle, grow Arizona’s economy, and solve problems rather than play politics.
As governor, Katie built a strong track record of working across the aisle to deliver for Arizonans, including signing over 900 pieces of bipartisan legislation into law, expanding affordable housing, raising pay for state troopers and fire fighters, strengthening border security by investing in law enforcement, and extending cancer coverage for first responders.
She has also negotiated four bipartisan, balanced budgets that cut taxes for hard-working families, with the most recent including the elimination of taxes on tips and overtime pay, a larger standard deduction for 88 percent of taxpayers, a new $6,000 deduction for Arizona seniors, and an expanded child tax credit.
