PHOENIX – Today, longtime Arizona Republican Mary Ellen, age 103, announced her support for Gov. Katie Hobbs’s re-election campaign, praising Hobbs’ commitment to results for Arizonans over partisan politics.Watch here.

“I’ve been a Republican all my life and I haven’t voted for many Democrats,” said Mary Ellen. “I remember the Depression. It took bold leaders to get us out. Now we need a bold leader, like Katie Hobbs, to fight for Arizona. Washington politicians are working on tax breaks for billionaires. Katie Hobbs is fighting for Arizona’s working families. I support her completely.”

“I’m honored to have Mary Ellen’s support,” said Gov. Katie Hobbs. “After 103 years, she’s seen a lot of politicians come and go, and what she cares about is whether her governor is actually getting things done. That’s what I’ve focused on every day — lowering costs, securing the border, and bringing good-paying jobs to our state. It’s the same approach that’s guided me since day one as governor, and it’s how I’ll keep doing the job for every Arizonan.”

This endorsement comes as Katie Hobbs continues to build momentum for a successful re-election, outraising every other gubernatorial candidate for five consecutive quarters and earning the support of longtime Republican and former Mesa Mayor John Giles. As governor, Katie Hobbs has a strong track record of working across the aisle to get things done for Arizonans. She has signed over 900 pieces of bipartisan legislation into law and negotiated four bipartisan, balanced budgets that cut taxes for hard-working families.
