PHOENIX – As healthcare premiums continue to skyrocket and many Arizonans struggle to retain coverage because of Washington’s misguided policies, Gov. Katie Hobbs visited the Valle del Sol Community Health clinic in South Phoenix. She toured the facility and sat down with doctors, nurses, behavioral health specialists, social workers, clinic administrators and patients to discuss the importance of access to affordable care and what she is doing to lower healthcare costs. The event is part of Katie Hobbs’ Salute to Service Tour, where she is traveling across Arizona to meet, listen to, and honor the Arizonans whose service strengthens our communities.

“No family should have to choose between seeing a doctor and paying the rent. That’s why I’ve always believed healthcare should be affordable and accessible,” said Gov. Katie Hobbs. “Community health centers like Valle del Sol are lifelines. They provide care with compassion and dignity, ensuring families can get the healthcare they need close to home. As governor, I’ve fought to expand access to care, lower prescription drug costs, and erase $642 million in medical debt for more than 485,000 Arizonans.”

Roundtable participants shared concerns over the rising cost of healthcare, with particular focus on how affordability and access affect children, seniors, and families. They also detailed the challenges facing hospitals and healthcare providers following recent federal funding cuts.
