PHOENIX – Today, Gov. Katie Hobbs is proud to announce the endorsement of the Communications Workers of America (CWA) Arizona State Council, representing more than 3,400 Arizona workers in communications, information, broadcast, public service, education, healthcare, and more. The CWA is backing Katie Hobbs because of her strong record of protecting workers’ rights, expanding workforce development, and lowering costs for working families.

“Arizona can count on Katie Hobbs to stand up for workers,” said Ginger Lane, Chair of the CWA Arizona State Council. “Katie Hobbs has a proven record of protecting workers’ rights, investing in apprenticeships and job training, and lowering costs for working families. She doesn’t just talk about supporting workers — she delivers results. That’s why CWA is proud to support her reelection.”

“I am honored to have the support of the CWA Arizona State Council,” said Katie Hobbs. “Growing up in a working-class family, I saw firsthand the challenges many Arizona families face. That’s why I’ve fought to protect workers’ rights, lower costs, and expand apprenticeship and job training opportunities across our state. I’ll always fight to make sure Arizonans are respected, protected, and able to earn a good living.”

Since taking office, Gov. Hobbs has made protecting and championing working families a cornerstone of her administration, including:

  • Launched a first-in-the-nation Heat Stress State Emphasis Plan to protect outdoor workers with requirements for water, shade, and rest on the hottest days;
  • Brokered a historic labor agreement at TSMC, ensuring safety, training pipelines, and good-paying jobs for Arizona workers on high-tech projects;
  • Created the Talent Ready AZ Initiative and established a first-of-its-kind Workforce Cabinet to align education, training, and economic agencies around one goal: connecting Arizonans to good-paying jobs in fast-growing industries like clean energy, cybersecurity, and advanced manufacturing;
  • Doubling the number of apprenticeships through the BuildItAZ initiative, with new investments and partnerships to train the next generation of trades professionals;
  • Delivered paid parental leave, childcare investments, and healthcare expansions for working families, including canceling $2 billion in medical debt, benefitting over one million Arizonans.
