GOODYEAR – Today, Gov. Katie Hobbs and her running mate, former Mesa Mayor John Giles, spoke with first responders at the Firefighters Local 4005 hall in Goodyear about the choice in the upcoming election between a governor who has a record of putting partisanship aside to deliver for Arizona’s firefighters and a Washington politician who has consistently voted against measures supporting firefighters and first responders. The firefighters then mailed their early ballots for the critical 2026 general election.
“Arizona’s firefighters risk their lives every single day, and they deserve a governor who stands with them,” said Gov. Katie Hobbs. “That’s why, as governor, I’ve defended firefighters’ labor and bargaining rights, strengthened cancer protections and benefits for first responders and their families, and expanded firefighting resources. I’m proud to have their endorsement in this election.”
Throughout her administration, Governor Hobbs has worked to ensure Arizona’s firefighters have the protections, benefits, and resources they need to do their jobs safely. She has received the endorsement of the Professional Fire Fighters of Arizona (PFFA), representing more than 9,000 first responders statewide, due to her record of putting aside partisan politics and delivering for our firefighters.
