TUCSON – Gov. Katie Hobbs and her running mate, former Mesa Mayor John Giles, brought the Arizona First Tour to Tucson today, where they fired up students at the University of Arizona, stopped by El Charro CafĂ©, and kicked off an LD17 canvass.

At the University of Arizona, Katie and John met with students, emphasized the stakes of this election, and urged students to spread the word that early voting is underway. They also highlighted the opening of the universityâs new on-campus early voting center.

Later, Katie and John visited El Charro Café, a family-run restaurant that invented the chimichanga, where they sat down with the owners to discuss how rising costs driven by Washington policies are squeezing day-to-day operations.

To close out the day, Katie and John joined State Rep. Kevin Volk, State Senate candidate Edgar Soto, and State House candidate Holly Lyon at the LD17 canvass launch. They thanked volunteers and organizers for their hard work before they headed out to talk with voters about whatâs at stake.
Todayâs events reflect the broader effort to meet voters where they are, backed by the robust statewide field program that has defined Katie Hobbs and John Gilesâ campaign, reaching communities across Arizona. From Scottsdale and Prescott to Tucson, Sierra Vista, Yuma, Maryvale, Bullhead City, and beyond, Katie Hobbs and John Giles are talking directly with Arizonans in their communities.
