PHOENIX – Today, Gov. Katie Hobbs is proud to announce that she has earned the endorsement of EMILYs List, the nationâs largest resource for electing women in politics, because of her strong record of protecting reproductive freedom.Â
âGov. Katie Hobbs has proven time and again that she is a fearless leader who will always do whatâs right for Arizonans â even when itâs hard. As governor, she led the fight to repeal Arizonaâs archaic 1864 total abortion ban, made birth control available over the counter, and has been a consistent, clear voice for reproductive freedom,â said Jessica Mackler, President of EMILYs List. âEMILYs List is proud to endorse Gov. Hobbs because it is critical that we reelect a battle-tested leader with a record of fighting for working families.â
âIâm proud to have earned the endorsement of EMILYs List, an organization thatâs been on the front lines of the fight for reproductive freedom and womenâs rights,â said Gov. Katie Hobbs. âSince taking office, Iâve made protecting and expanding reproductive freedom a top priority. That includes leading the successful, bipartisan repeal of Arizonaâs archaic 1864 abortion ban, helping pass Prop 139 to enshrine the right to abortion in our state constitution, expanding access to birth control by making it available over the counter, and defending the right of Arizonans to build their families through access to fertility treatments like IVF. EMILYs Listâs support is critical in this moment, and together we will continue pushing back against extremists who seek to roll back our rights and protect the fundamental freedoms of Arizonans.â
