Gov. Katie Hobbs’ Strong Record of Protecting Reproductive Freedom Earns Her EMILYs List Endorsement

PHOENIX – Today, Gov. Katie Hobbs is proud to announce that she has earned the endorsement of EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for electing women in politics, because of her strong record of protecting reproductive freedom. 

“Gov. Katie Hobbs has proven time and again that she is a fearless leader who will always do what’s right for Arizonans — even when it’s hard. As governor, she led the fight to repeal Arizona’s archaic 1864 total abortion ban, made birth control available over the counter, and has been a consistent, clear voice for reproductive freedom,” said Jessica Mackler, President of EMILYs List. “EMILYs List is proud to endorse Gov. Hobbs because it is critical that we reelect a battle-tested leader with a record of fighting for working families.”

Since taking office, Gov. Katie Hobbs has made protecting and expanding reproductive freedom a priority of her administration, including:

• Led the successful, bipartisan effort to repeal Arizona’s archaic 1864 total abortion ban.
• Signed an executive order protecting women and doctors from prosecution for seeking and providing reproductive healthcare.
• Supported Prop 139, enshrining the right to abortion in the Arizona Constitution and protecting reproductive freedom for generations to come.
• Expanded access to birth control by making it available over the counter, helping more women take control of their reproductive health.
