Professional Fire Fighters of Arizona Endorse Katie Hobbs for Governor

PHOENIX — The Professional Fire Fighters of Arizona have endorsed Katie Hobbs’ campaign for governor, lauding her track record of representing the needs of working families and her plan for an Affordable Arizona.

“From shutting down election conspiracies and baseless lawsuits as Secretary of State to expanding health care as a state legislator, Katie Hobbs is used to putting out fires and fighting for everyday Arizonans,” according to a statement from Professional Fire Fighters of Arizona. “Secretary Hobbs has a real plan to stand up for working families and has experience running a statewide office. We are confident she will bring that same fighting spirit to the governor’s office and champion the values of everyday Arizonans.”

“I am extremely proud to have the support of these brave women and men who put their lives on the line every day to keep Arizonans safe,” Hobbs said. “Unfortunately, even as the effects of climate change make wildfires a more common occurrence, our hardworking firefighters are still struggling to keep up with the rising cost of living. As governor, I will not only help combat the environmental degradation contributing to these growing threats, but also work to counteract rising costs that put an extra burden on our brave firefighters.”

The group’s backing expands a long list of labor endorsements, including support from a historic coalition of Arizona’s largest unions. Other labor groups that have endorsed Hobbs for governor include the Arizona State Association of Letter Carriers, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Arizona, the Arizona State Council of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, the American Federation of Teachers Arizona, and more.
