Planned Parenthood Arizona Endorses Katie Hobbs
Reproductive rights organization, gubernatorial candidate to host Instagram Live event
PHOENIX — Planned Parenthood Arizona announced their endorsement of Secretary of State Katie Hobbs for governor last week, underscoring her relentless support of reproductive rights and a woman’s right to a safe and legal abortion.
“Planned Parenthood Advocates of Arizona (PPAA) is proud to endorse Katie Hobbs for governor of Arizona,” the organization’s board of directors said. “Now more than ever, it is critical that we elect a governor who believes that reproductive health care is a human right and who commits to keeping abortion legal in our state. Katie Hobbs is a proven leader with a strong record of being a champion for reproductive rights. We are confident that Katie Hobbs will be the next governor of Arizona and we are happy to continue working with her to ensure reproductive freedom for all.”
The endorsement comes when support for reproductive rights rises to a near record high in the U.S. and after a leaked document showed the Supreme Court set on overturning Roe v. Wade.
“At such a critical time for the future of reproductive rights, I am beyond honored to have the support of Planned Parenthood Arizona,” Hobbs said. “These crucial advocates work tirelessly to protect a woman’s right to a safe and legal abortion, and as governor, I promise to be the last line of defense and veto any legislation that compromises our right to choose.”
