Katie Hobbs Champions Plans To Tackle Arizona’s Greatest Challenges on Solutions Can’t Wait Tour Through Northern Arizona
Hobbs unveils education plan and touts real solutions in second leg of statewide tour
PHOENIX – This weekend, Arizona Secretary of State and Democratic nominee for governor Katie Hobbs completed the second leg of her statewide Solutions Can’t Wait Tour, meeting with voters, tribal leaders, and students across Northern Arizona.
“It is one of my greatest honors both as an elected official and a candidate for governor to meet with Arizonans in their communities and hear from them about the issues they care about the most,” Hobbs said. “The issues we are facing are not Democrat or Republican issues, they are Arizona issues that require Arizona solutions. As governor, I will work night and day to deliver these critical, common-sense solutions for everyday Arizonans and steer our state toward a future that works for all of us.”
Hobbs kicked off the multi-day tour in Window Rock, joining the annual Navajo Nation Parade after the event took a two-year pause due to Covid-19. The parade was a tribute to frontline workers for all their hard work and sacrifices throughout the pandemic. Hobbs walked the four-mile parade among supporters, stopping for photos and to chat with Arizonans who thanked her for her steady leadership and for answering the call to serve. Hobbs then attended a reception, having lunch with tribal leaders and community members.

Traveling to Flagstaff, Hobbs spoke at the Mission for Arizona canvass launch, describing the importance of electing a governor who will defend reproductive health care and work with both sides of the aisle to deliver solutions for the state. During Hobbs’ speech, she thanked her former NAU professor, Phyllis Schiller, who knocked doors in support of her. She also welcomed Gary, a Republican voter who said he will be choosing Hobbs on the ballot this election because of how far Kari Lake wants to push the state to the ideological extreme and her denial of the 2020 election results.
Hobbs then returned to her alma mater, Northern Arizona University, to release her Prepared Arizona plan to ensure Arizona’s students and teachers thrive. At the event, she was joined by teachers, students, and members of the Arizona Education Association’s Aspiring Educators group, discussing with them her plans to make the state the best place to live, work, and raise a family.
The Secretary of State visited the Flagstaff Medical Center to learn about what resources personnel at the standout rural hospital need to continue delivering lifesaving care to patients from across a large swath of Northern Arizona.
Secretary Hobbs then attended a house party in Munds Park full of supporters who came together to hear directly from her about her plans for the state. Still, never one to miss an opportunity to inform Arizonans, she addressed partygoers about what’s at stake in this November election and urged them to elect a leader who will champion sanity over chaos and work hard to serve Arizonans of all backgrounds.
In her official capacity, the Secretary of State traveled to the Winslow 9-11 Remembrance Garden to pay tribute to the people who lost their lives on September 11. In her remarks, Sec. Hobbs gave her heartfelt condolences to those who lost someone on that tragic day and called on Arizonans to put aside their divisions as the nation mourns. She was joined by other elected officials and leaders including Winslow Mayor Roberta Cano, U.S. Congressman Tom O’Halleran, Navajo County Supervisors Fern Benally and Jesse Thompson (retired).
