Tempe School Board President Berdetta Hodge Endorses Katie Hobbs for Governor
PHOENIX—Today, Tempe Union High School Board President Berdetta Hodge endorsed Secretary Hobbs for Governor.
“Every student deserves a quality education and the resources they need to learn,” said Berdetta Hodge, President of the Tempe Union High School District Governing Board (TUHSD). “Katie Hobbs is a fighter for everyone—no matter their sex, race, or income, and with her leadership as governor, all Arizona students will have a champion fighting for their futures.”
Board Member President Hodge has been a leader in her community and schools for over twenty five years. Before being elected Board Member President, Berdetta served on site and district advisory committees, booster clubs, and parental engagement groups for schools in the community. She also dedicates her time to mentoring students as a part of the Black Students Union groups in the Tempe Union.
In addition to serving the Tempe school district, Berdetta serves as a board member of the Booker T. Washington Child Development Center and the Mesa Art Center Foundation, is an education liaison at the East Valley NAACP, and is First Vice Chairwoman of the Legislative District 26 Democrats. She is committed to ensuring all students have equal opportunity to a quality education, and is looking forward to continuing this important work with Katie Hobbs when she is elected governor.
