Republican Audit Crumbles AFTER GOP Gubernatorial Candidates Endorse It

SHOT:

During Donald Trump’s return to Arizona this weekend, every single Republican gubernatorial candidate used the rally as an opportunity to back the Arizona fraudit and cling to the former president’s side:

Kimberly Yee: “I promise you that I will not rest until we make sure that we do not allow a fraud and the Democrat shenanigans in our elections. And I stand here today with all of these great patriots as witnesses.”

Steve Gaynor: “There are a million Republicans in our state who believe the 2020 election was rigged […] We are not going to stand down. We’re not going to stop. We’re going to fight every step of the way. And with your help, we will win. We will prevail.”

Kari Lake: “You know, there are a bunch of dirty politicians sitting at home, and they’re scared to death by what they see in this room. You know, the ones the backstabbers, the ones who turn their back on President Trump on November 4. And they told us to forget about the November 3 election that nothing went wrong and we should get on with our lives. We’re not going to do that.”

Matt Salmon: “We need proven conservative leadership. And that’s why I’m so very happy President Donald Trump’s in town. Only by fighting together against the liberals can we preserve what we care about our families, our democracy, our freedom, our Constitution. And it starts by finding out what happened on Election Day in November.”

CHASER:

Meanwhile, the Republican-backed audit is in shambles as Republican Senator Michelle Ugentia-Rita speaks out against the “Trump audit,” and Senate liaison and former Secretary of State Ken Bennett is barred from the election recount.

In a Twitter thread over the weekend, Sen. Ugenti Rita said:

“I wanted to review our election processes and see what, if anything, could be improved. Sadly, it’s now become clear that the audit has been botched. The total lack of competence by @FannKfann (Senator Karen Fann) over the last 5 months has deprived the voters of Arizona a comprehensive accounting of the 2020 election. That’s inexcusable, but it shows what can happen when Republicans do not take election integrity deadly serious.”

And in an interview on the Conservative Circus, Bennett says he is being denied access to the audit building and on the verge of resigning:

James Harris: I want to have you on to clear some things up: possibly fake news, possibly not. Tell us right now are you or are you not the liaison to the Senate for the Maricopa County audit?

Bennett: Right now I am James. But I came on yourself to discuss whether that can continue.

[…]

“Now, the reason I was coming on this morning and the reason I am that close to stepping down as liaison is that I cannot be a part of a process that I am kept out of critical aspects along the way that make the audit legitimate and have integrity when we produce the final report. And unfortunately, there have been too many of those situations and the tip of the iceberg kind of came out last Friday when I was denied access to the audit itself.”

LIME:

CNN called Trump’s rant–warmed up by the GOP gubernatorial candidates–“literally unhinged.”

“Donald Trump has set a pretty high bar for himself when it comes to wild rants. And yet, over the weekend in a speech to Turning Point Action in Arizona, he managed to outdo himself.

Words – or at least my words – can’t do it justice. So, here’s the former President of the United States:

‘The county has, for whatever reason, also refused to produce the network routers. We want the routers, Sonny, Wendy, we got to get those routers, please. The routers. Come on, Kelly, we can get those routers. Those routers. You know what? We’re so beyond the routers, there’s so many fraudulent votes without the routers. But if you got those routers, what that will show, and they don’t want to give up the routers. They don’t want to give them. They are fighting like hell. Why are these commissioners fighting not to give the routers?’

Yup. Literally unhinged. I mean, he says the word “routers” 11 times in that rant.”

The Republican gubernatorial hopefuls are in disarray as they struggle to hold onto false claims of fraud that have continuously been debunked, sowing doubt in Arizona’s elections along the way.
