Katie Hobbs Walks In Navajo Nation Parade And Attends Reception With Tribal Leaders

Hobbs continues her Solutions Can’t Wait Tour visiting the Navajo Nation

WINDOW ROCK – Today, Secretary of State and Democratic candidate for governor Katie Hobbs attended the annual Navajo Nation Parade after the event took a two-year pause due to Covid-19. The parade was a tribute to frontline workers for all their hard work and sacrifices throughout the pandemic. Secretary Hobbs walked the four-mile parade among supporters, stopping for photos and to chat with Arizonans who thanked her for her steady leadership and for answering the call to serve. Hobbs then attended a reception, having lunch with tribal leaders and community members.

“The energy at the Navajo Nation parade was amazing,” Hobbs stated. “The cheers from the crowd as we walked the parade route were incredibly humbling and I am honored to have been invited to such a special event. The outpouring of support we received today reenergized me to keep fighting for all Arizonans.”

At the reception with tribal leaders, Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez encouraged the crowd to support Hobbs saying “we will be dancing in the streets when Katie Hobbs is elected governor.” Hobbs spoke to attendees about her A Collaborative Arizona plan that details how she will partner with all 22 tribes to ensure they are able to thrive.
