Katie Hobbs Joins Former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, African American Leaders for Press Conference

Hobbs reaffirms her commitment to uplifting communities of color as governor

PHOENIX – This afternoon, Arizona Secretary of State and Democratic nominee for governor Katie Hobbs, alongside former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, hosted a press conference with local African American leaders.

Holder emphasized Hobbs’ history of protecting the right to vote as Secretary of State while warning of the threat Kari Lake poses for the future of American democracy.

Hobbs highlighted her Inclusive Arizona plan, record of implementing policies that created greater equity and opportunity for marginalized communities, and history of putting politics aside to achieve results for everyday Arizonans. She denounced Kari Lake’s campaign of division and hateful rhetoric and her dangerous ideas that would bring untold levels of chaos to our state.

“Arizona is at a crossroads — our communities of color face inequitable barriers to success and shoulder the undue burdens of the greatest challenges of our time,” Hobbs said during the press conference. “As we address critical issues such as the rising cost of rent and groceries, our water crisis, and teacher shortage, we must ensure we are uplifting all Arizonans.”

With five days before Election Day, Hobbs has built the strongest, most diverse and determined coalition to reject Lake’s dangerous and backwards agenda.
