PHOENIX – Today, Katie Hobbs is proud to announce the endorsement of the Arizona Alliance for Retired Americans, a leading grassroots senior organization dedicated to protecting the health, economic security, and civil rights of older Arizonans. The Alliance is supporting Gov. Hobbs because of her unwavering commitment to lowering costs for seniors, strengthening retirement security, and ensuring older Arizonans can age with dignity.
“For years, the Arizona Alliance has fought to defend programs like Social Security and Medicare, lower prescription drug costs, and protect the rights of retirees — and Gov. Hobbs has been a steadfast partner in that mission,” said Linda Somo, President of the Arizona Alliance for Retired Americans. “She has taken meaningful action to cut taxes for seniors, lower the cost of medications, and expand affordable housing options across the state. Gov. Hobbs understands what’s at stake for older Arizonans, and she consistently delivers. That’s why the Arizona Alliance for Retired Americans is proud to endorse her for re-election.”
“I’m deeply grateful to receive the endorsement of the Arizona Alliance for Retired Americans,” said Katie Hobbs. “From lowering prescription drug prices to cutting taxes for seniors, I’ve made it a priority to deliver real results for older Arizonans. There’s more work ahead, and I’ll keep fighting for the dignity, health, and peace of mind older Arizonans deserve.”
Since taking office, Gov. Hobbs has delivered major wins for Arizona seniors, including:
- Cutting taxes for seniors as part of her Middle Class Tax Cuts Package — including a higher standard deduction and new deductions for seniors, tips, overtime, and car-loan interest — ensuring retirees and older workers keep more of what they earn.
- Launching AZRx, a statewide prescription drug savings initiative that allows Arizonans to save up to 80 percent on their medications through a free discount card available at nearly 1,200 pharmacies statewide.
- Investing $150 million into the State Housing Trust Fund, the largest investment in state history, to expand affordable housing options for seniors and working families.
- Implementing the Efficiency Arizona home energy rebates program, helping Arizonans save on utility bills and make energy-efficient home upgrades by replacing aging cooling systems with more efficient heat pumps, lowering costs, and improving safety for Arizona families.
- Canceling $2 billion in medical debt, providing relief to over one million Arizonans — especially impactful for seniors living on fixed incomes.
