TUCSON – As rising costs continue to batter small business owners, Gov. Katie Hobbs paid a visit to Comida Park, a food truck gathering place within the Tanque Verde Swap Meet, to hear directly from Tucson-area entrepreneurs and discuss how she’s fighting to lower costs and mitigate the harmful effects of Washington’s cost-hiking policies.
Joined by Tucson Mayor Regina Romero, Hobbs met with the owners of various food trucks specializing in street tacos, sweet treats, Mexican-style sushi, churros, and BBQ, before sitting down for a bite to eat. As part of these interactions, Hobbs and Romero got an inside look at food truck operations and heard firsthand how Washington’s tariffs have taken a toll on essential ingredients, from pistachio paste to chocolate. They also heard about the unique challenges that come with running a small business on wheels as gas and diesel prices continue to surge nationwide and in Pima County.
