Governor-Elect Katie Hobbs Names Allie Bones As Chief of Staff
 Long-time public servant and Arizona Assistant Secretary of State Bones to join Hobbs in building a safer, stronger Arizona

Governor-Elect Hobbsâ decision to name Ms. Bones as Chief of Staff demonstrates her commitment to building an experienced and talented team to lead Arizona. As Arizonaâs Assistant Secretary of State, Ms. Bonesâ vast portfolio includes various operations in the Secretary of Stateâs Office, such as overseeing the stateâs election system, business services, and public records. In 2020, Governor-Elect Hobbs worked closely with Ms. Bones to administer a historically safe and secure election in Arizona, which had record-breaking voter turnout. Like Governor-Elect Hobbs, Bones is a social worker and they met in 2001 while advocating together in support of survivors of domestic violence.
About Allie Bones:
Allie Bones currently serves as Assistant Secretary of State, serving in the administration of Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs. Focusing on the administration of the Secretary of Stateâs Office, she oversees all operations of the department, including overseeing Elections, Business Services, the State Library System, Public Records and Archives, the Address Confidentiality Program, and Administration.
Throughout her career, she has held a variety of governmental and advocacy positions focusing on ending gender-based violence, homelessness and hunger. Ms. Bones was the Chief Executive Officer of the Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence (ACESDV) for 11 years, during which time she managed the organization through tremendous growth and transformation. Previously, Ms. Bones worked for the AZ Department of Economic Security as the State Homeless Coordinator and Program Manager for domestic violence, homeless, and hunger programs. Before that, she was a Senior Program Analyst for Violence Against Women in former Governor Janet Napolitanoâs Office for Children, Youth and Families, Division for Women. Ms. Bones was Executive Director for the Arizona Coalition to End Homelessness just before joining Governor Napolitanoâs staff, and she started her career with the Arizona Coalition Against Domestic Violence as a Systems Advocate, advocating and lobbying for systems changes to improve the lives of victims of domestic violence and hold offenders accountable.
Ms. Bones earned her Bachelorâs Degree from the University of Arizona in Family Studies and completed her Master of Social Work in May of 2001 at Arizona State University.
