Association of Federal, State, County and Municipal Employees Arizona Endorses Katie Hobbs

PHOENIX — Today, the Association of Federal, State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Arizona announced its endorsement of Secretary of State and gubernatorial candidate Katie Hobbs.

“Secretary Hobbs has always fought tirelessly for labor rights and has been vocal in her opposition to bills that would hurt working families,” Frank Piccoli, AFSCME Arizona Local 2960 President and People Committee Chair. “I have seen her take on the biggest challenges that Arizona faces and stand up for workers like us  – that’s why we’re honored to support her campaign for governor.”

“I’m honored to have the support of the Association of Federal, State, County and Municipal Employees,” said Secretary Hobbs. “As an AFSCME member myself, I know firsthand how important it is that we elect leaders who will fight for better pay, better healthcare, better job security, and better outcomes for hard-working people. As governor, I will continue to advocate for fairness in the workplace and collective bargaining rights.”

Hobbs has continued to build support from labor groups across the state, including the Arizona State Council of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, the American Federation of Teachers Arizona, the Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters, the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 36, and more.
