Arizona National Organization for Women PAC Endorses Katie Hobbs for Governor
PHOENIX — The political action committee of the Arizona National Organization for Women endorsed Secretary of State Katie Hobbs’ campaign for governor, highlighting her track record of standing up for women’s rights.
“Secretary Hobbs has a long history of doing what’s right for Arizona women,” said AZNOW PAC Chair Dianne Post. “From advocating for women in crisis during her time as a social worker to fighting tirelessly in the state legislature to protect access to reproductive health care, Katie has championed women’s rights in countless battles throughout our state. We have no doubt that she will remain a fierce advocate for women as governor.”
“This is a crucial time for women as state legislatures across the nation face brazen attacks on our right to a safe and legal abortion,” Secretary Hobbs said. “As both a mother and an elected official, I refuse to stand by and do nothing as my daughter and so many young women in our country face the horrible threat of having fewer rights. As governor, I will be the last line of defense for equal treatment of women and an inclusive Arizona.”
Support from the AZNOW PAC comes on the heels of Planned Parenthood Arizona’s endorsement earlier this month of Hobbs’ bid for governor. As governor, Hobbs pledges to repeal the 1901 law that effectively bans all abortions and to use her veto pen to fight back against any efforts to further restrict reproductive rights. On top of defending a woman’s right to choose, Hobbs’ plan for an Inclusive Arizona calls for elevating women in state government and expanding capital for women-owned businesses.
