ICYMI: Katie Hobbs Highlights Stakes of This Election on The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell
Hobbs condemns Kari Lake for putting Trump and her own ego before Arizonans
PHOENIX – Yesterday, Arizona Secretary of State and Democratic nominee for governor Katie Hobbs appeared on The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell, where she delivered a strong argument for what’s at stake this election.
Hobbs emphasized why Kari Lake must be defeated:
“[Kari Lake] is not focused on what Arizonans need, she is focused on what the [former] president wants, which is exactly why he’s endorsed her in this race and why we have to stop her. She has made it clear that she’s not interested in upholding the will of the voters if she doesn’t agree with the will of the voters.”
Hobbs ended the interview by restating her focus on real issues affecting Arizonans:
“First and foremost, Arizonans are tired of being ground zero for this election denial and we have real issues that people are concerned about. We need leaders who are going to get to work bringing people together to solve these issues. They are not Democrat or Republican issues, they are Arizona issues and we need to work together to tackle them.
“Our state’s water crisis, funding our broken education system, protecting reproductive rights, and addressing the issues of affordability. Phoenix [has] the highest inflation in the country right now driven largely by housing prices. We need serious plans to get to work addressing these issues so that Arizona can continue to be the best place to live, work, and raise a family.”
